We have collected the list of eligible smartphones across the Mi, Redmi, and Poco range of devices from Xiaomi so that no matter what brand of phone you use under Xiaomi, the list applies to all. But before we can dive into the list, let’s see some of the features that the upcoming MIUI 14 will have onboard.

List of MIUI 14 Features (Speculated)

Let’s take a deep dive into the list of MIUI 14 features that are highly speculated. However, take the list with a pinch of salt as there’s no official list available as of now.

In a screenshot that is circulating on the web, MIUI 14 appears to have a text recognition feature built-in on the Gallery app. The feature will be able to scan through the documents something like OCR without needing a third-party app. Apart from that, the Gallery app is likely to gain an “On this day” section which shows memories of the same date last year. It is similar to how Google Photos automatically creates stories of photos and videos captured on the same date last year.

Anti-fraud protection

Another screenshot shows a new “Anti-fraud protection” feature that signals suspicious calls, messages, and apps you could be using or consuming. It appears that you can turn ON (or turn OFF) alerts on calls, apps, and messages individually.

Bluetooth LE Audio Support

MIUI 14 is expected to gain Bluetooth LE Audio support which is an upgraded and next-gen wireless audio. It will bring onboard support for new high-quality codecs. There’s support for Auracast broadcasting where your phone will act as an FM radio station and you can use multiple headphones simultaneously. There’s Multi-Stream functionality in the works too that will stream music across both sets of TWS buds at the same time. To put things into perspective, current TWS headsets get streams in the primary bud which relays it to the secondary bud.

Reworked UIs

The notification panel or UI is undoubtedly one of the most visited elements on any smartphone. We use it a hundred times a day to check for any notifications and repeat it the next day around. Xiaomi has been working on decluttering notification panels for a long time. With MIUI 14, it is attempting to declutter it further which is now a bit minimalistic. It applies gaussian blur to the background thereby hiding any content or app you might have in the background.

Other parts of the UI have seen a bit of rework such as the clock app UI which looks pretty now. The Assistant interface has received its share of UI updates as well. It goes without saying, Xiaomi applies these minor tweaks in every incremental update making it better than the last one.

This is just the preliminary list of features that MIUI 14 is speculated to bring onboard. We are yet to confirm these updates given that we are still a few months away from its rollout. We will keep updating the list of MIUI 14 features as the information is available. Meanwhile, you can have a look at the list of MIUI 14 eligible devices mentioned below to get a clear idea if your phone will get the update or not.

MIUI 14 Release Date

As aforementioned, Xiaomi hasn’t pointed out any date or a range of dates when the MIUI 14 will arrive. However, this doesn’t stop the rumor mills from churning intel from countless sources. Based on what’s churning, MIUI 14 is likely to make its debut in the first quarter of 2023. Once it releases, Xiaomi 13 series will be the first to get it onboard followed by the entire list of eligible devices mentioned above in a staggered manner sometime in Q2 or Q3 2023 although the updates usually take a long timeframe across a herd of devices that Xiaomi releases daily.
