Windows 10 May Update Nears
While everyone’s expecting the launch of Windows 10X, Microsoft is pushing the next big version upgrade to its standard Windows 10 users. This is the Windows 10 21H1 update, which is now renamed to be officially called Windows 10 May update. As per reports, it’s an enablement package meant for enabling the few hidden features in users’ Windows 10 machines. Some of them include;
Performance improvements to Windows Defender Application Guard. Support set Windows Hello camera as default if there’s an internal and external one. Improvements to Windows Management Instrumentation Group Policy Service to better support the work from home situations.
This update is reported to come with fewer new features and form a steady base for the next big update coming later this year. To date, it’s available for users in Beta Channel and commercial Preview Channel but now made available for Windows Insiders too. So for those interested in this can go to Settings > Update and Security and tap on the Windows Insider section to enroll. The Windows 10 build number will be bumped to 19043. A big update basing on this will be coming in this year’s fall, with the name of Windows 10 21H2 or the Sun Valley update. This will include several features, support to various functions, and a complete design revamp.
